The Plinth

This work was always intended to be placed on a table with a chair.  It evolved to reference the business element by adding a pin-striped suit fabric, initially to dress the chair.  However during the installation in Poly Vacher is became clear that the platter was lost on the table.  Due to the creamy colour of the ceramic - the white plinth and the floor were then assessed to see if there was a way of increasing its impact.  The day before the show was opened I dressed two wooden plinths I had used in a previous exhibition in the striped material, leaving the lapel, cuffs and pockets on and making features of them on up rights.
