Winter Cabaret

At the end of November and sometime early December, the department puts on a Winter Cabaret.

This year was fun. I had been practising for the forthcoming Leach Year module, throwing small forms, keeping the more interesting failures and turning them into miniature artworks, adding craft shop cardboard frames, painting them in gold, red and matt black.

Practising wheel throwing ceramics, plenty of examples of what not to do.

These languish on the side of the studio, however they take on a different more experimental look when placed in a frame.

The shots of red and matte black frames were the more successful pieces, the contrast against the white non-vitrified chalky white surface seemed to pop.
